About

Chiara earned her bachelor's degree in Biotechnology for Health from the University of Naples "Federico II". During this time, she worked at the Division of Physiology on a project focused on unraveling the etiopathogenesis of Multiple Sclerosis. She then pursued a master's degree in Medical Biotechnology at the University of Naples "Federico II", where she conducted research at the Department of Neurosciences on the role of microRNAs with neuroprotective properties in animal models of stroke. After graduating, Chiara completed an internship at the Center for Molecular Neurobiology Hamburg (ZMNH) at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf. During this period, she investigated memory reconsolidation in aged mice at both behavioral and cellular levels. In 2021, Chiara joined the Functional Neuroimaging Lab at IIT as a PhD student. Her current research focuses on validating Functional Ultrasound Imaging (fUSI) as an innovative tool for mapping large-scale functional connectivity networks in the mouse brain.
